The Culinary 16 (美食十六冬令營) - Can You Take the Heat?

The Culinary 16 (美食十六) is an exclusive, immersive winter camp designed for young culinary enthusiasts eager to explore the art of high-end cooking and professional kitchen skills. Only 16 students will be selected for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, offering a unique opportunity not available anywhere else in Taipei for students to be able to get behind the scenes and experience the culinary world from a chef’s perspective. Over two intensive weeks, students will master essential cooking techniques, develop their knife skills, and gain a solid understanding of ingredient selection and flavor combinations. Guided by experienced culinary instructors and culinary enthusiasts, they will build confidence and creativity as they work with high-quality ingredients to create exquisite dishes in a full English environment.

Each student will begin the program with a short meet-and-greet session with the instructors. This initial meeting allows us to get a sense of each student's proficiency abilities to be able to keep up with the program and in the kitchen. Although prior cooking experience is not required, these insights will help us tailor the experience to ensure each child is supported and challenged appropriately.

In addition to in-kitchen lessons, students will venture beyond the classroom with two special outings, immersing them in real-world culinary environments. These excursions will take them through every step of the food journey—from ingredient sourcing to high-end kitchen operations—providing a complete culinary experience.
